Happy New Year!

Well we will be ringing in the new year at my parents house this year, where my dad, Harry and I are all sick with colds. It should be great fun. I will hopefully post some good pics tomorrow. But I have to go and get a couple more things that we need for tonight.

Diamonds and Husbands are a Girl's Best Friend!

So I must say that Mate really surprised me this Christmas, not only did he buy me a beautiful diamond ring but he also bought me the matching diamond earrings!!! HOLY CRAPOLA!!! Needless to say what I thought was a popcorn tin, was in fact a popcorn tin but contained a small white box with a gorgeous diamond ring!

Christmas Eve

Since I had some time today before all of the nightly festivities I thought that I would do a quick post. Well actually I had an "accident" in the kitchen making the dessert for tonight that I thought was blog worthy! I was making pudding torte for Christmas Eve and I thought that I had read the recipe right to combine all of the ingredients, boy I was wrong. After another quick trip to the grocery store to get the ingredients again, it is now safely setting in the refrigerator. I hope that it will be good, part of it I am sure about, but since I am not sure if anyone that is going to be at my aunt's house for Christmas tonight might be reading this I won't say which part. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that it turned out and will be good!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas is almost here.

I had to post this picture of Mate because it is one of my favorites. It was from the day that we got about 12 inches of snow! He had gotten up at 2:30 in the morning to shovel. I went outside about 4:45ish and took this picture of him. I love his smile. I think that I had said something funny to him because I know that all of that snow wasn't making him smile, especially since he shoveled it all, and didn't use the snow blower because he didn't think that he could make so much noise! Crazy man! Anyway, I can't believe that Christmas is in two days, it seems like it took forever to get here and now that it is almost here I wish that it would wait just a little bit. Tonight I have a my last final exam of the semester so I am going to keep studying for it after this post. It snowed here again yesterday so the driveway is full again, I should at some point get out there and shovel but I really don't want to! I am looking out the window of our studio and the icsicles are hanging down from the drain pipe, they look so pretty, but they aren't dripping any water down from them so that must mean that it is really cold out there. Good thing I don't have to leave until about 5 o'clock. Well that is all for today's posting. If i miss getting on here before Christmas, I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

Snow Day

So we have had quite a lot of snow today! About 12" since last night around 11pm. Mate got up at 2:30am and started shoveling out the driveway and his car, then at about 4:30am I woke up, went outside to check on him, he called Harry and we drove over to my mom and dad's house. At about 5:30 Mate and Harry headed out to start digging out all of Harry's customers! About 6 houses later they came home to a lunch of grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup - made by me! Meanwhile I held down the Steldt fort while Mom went to work. Now I am relaxing, I think that I am going to go and crochet for awhile. It almost looks like the sun is going to come and say a quite hello and good-bye! This picture was taken out the front door at my mom and dad's house. I hope that everyone else is enjoying their snow day!

Christmas Parade

Things here are now starting to get busy! With Christmas only 2.5 weeks away (that is really hard to believe) I am crazy busy. Not only is Christmas coming soon but finals are in a week! YIKES!!! So lately lost of studying and homework so my posting has been some what delayed. Last weekend was West Bend's Christmas parade and the whole family went! It was freezing! But afterward we warmed up with some nice Mexican food! This weekend my friend Amanda and I baked Christmas cookies, this year we only made two types of cookies but dipped lots of things in chocolate and made peanut butter balls which are a favorite of mine! In two weeks Mom, Sherry and I will make Christmas cookies too, well I should say that Mom and Sherry will make them, the way that things are going for me I will have to take that day off so that I can get crocheting done. I am pleased to say that even though we are very busy I have made two blankets and a scarf so far! Yea me! Well that is all for now, I have to get back to crocheting as the homework for this evening is complete!
